Levi’s goes back to where it all started with the Levi’s Selvedge

Levi’s goes back to where it all started with the Levi’s Selvedge

Would it be wrong to say that Levi's jeans are probably the best jeans in the world? Well if not the best, the brand is definitely in the top 3 which is not bad for a brand that started out in 1853 and is still going as strong as ever!

With the re-introduction of the Levi's iconic Selvedge, the denim empire makes sure that they stay on top of their game and pre-booking another slot in your current wardrobe.

Originating from the term ʻself-edgedʼ, selvedge occurs when the entire denim loom is used to create a pair of jeans. The denim is then sewn together and the white finished edges are visible on the inside of the cuff, thus giving the jeans a recognisable detail that simultaneously conveys that the jeans are stronger and more durable. Leviʼs®introduced red coloured stitching onto the white seam in the late 1920s to distinguish its selvedge against competition, an iconic feature that has been much imitated since.

From a massive selection of finishes to choose from, the selvedge denim is available on the Leviʼs® iconic 501® and 505®.

Find them at the Levi's store and on-line at www.levi.com
